Astrophotography
From solar system objects, to wide field nebula and distant galaxies, its truly amazing what can be achieved with modern amateur equipment, and processing techniques.
Being an astrophotographer in Scotland is both extremely rewarding, and extremely frustrating in equal measure. With our prevailing weather coming off the Atlantic, full night imaging opportunities are very rare, and itβs simply not dark enough for 3 - 4 months of the year! Often, imaging sessions can be counted on one hand in a winter season. You have to be spontaneous, and grab the good sky conditions when you can!
